TROPICAL ICE INVITES YOU ON...“A JOURNEY TO THE JADE SEA”

An action packed family-friendly safari combining Kenya's greatest hits with some real adventure (think quad bikes, helicopters, walking, fishing!). We also venture into Kenya's little visited North - a spectacular region of deserts, lakes, and mountains populated with nomadic tribes. This safari is East Africa at its best!

For years we have been looking for a Kenyan safari, which would compliment our Great Walk of Africa. We have also been conscious of the fact that the Great Walk is not a 'family friendly' safari (we don't allow kids under 18 years of age).

We have at last found the perfect solution to the problem, a family friendly safari, which will culminate on the shores of Lake Turkana (known as the Jade Sea), in far northern Kenya.

This adventure will also appeal to those of you who have been on our Great Walk, and would like to do something completely different with us in Kenya.

We start in our special camp in southwestern Kenya, located close to the border where the Maasai Mara meets Tanzania's Serengeti. We will spend 3 nights here, game-viewing across the green, rolling plains, which are home to every imaginable species of African wildlife.

This will be followed by a spectacular flight across the Great Rift Valley to Meru National Park, of Born Free fame, the story of Elsa the lioness. In Meru we will see rhino, elephant, and many of the unique desert species of northern Kenya such as Beisa oryx, Reticulated giraffe, and Grevy's zebra. We will stay in the lovely Elsa's Kopje.

We then fly to a special camp in the heart of Samburuland, close to the shores of Lake Turkana. We will explore this region either on foot, by vehicle, or quad bikes. There will be opportunities to fish on the lake, and see how the Samburu people live.

We can even arrange a special helicopter ride around Lake Turkana, an amazing way to see the region, and one of the most spectacular things to do in Africa.

Join us in 2025 on this special safari, the dates of which are:

June 19 - 29
